Going Green at Grassroutes Leisure

You may well know Grassroutes Leisure as one of the larger wholesalers of leisure vehicle products in the UK. What you may not yet know is how we have now become one of the UK’s greenest businesses.

Last month, we had one hundred and five solar panels to our head office warehouse in the (occasionally) sunny heart of Somerset. With that quantity of panels on their roof, Grassroutes Leisure can now generate up to 30kW – more than enough to power the entire building – a feat that not many other businesses have achieved.

Not content with just running on the sun, our other green initiatives include low energy LED lighting throughout the warehouse, the return to glass bottle milk bottles (to power the staff teas and coffees) and the recycling all the paper and cardboard waste into new protective packaging materials.

And there is more.

All our own branded bags used for product packaging bags are also entirely recyclable.

As a well-known celebrity once said, it’s not easy being green, but we think that we have made good progress so far...
